4 February 2008, LondonFaCshion is an independent fashion shopping event that promises a fun-filled day out for the fashion conscious with an appetite for fashion and a huge inspiration to shop. FaCshion aims to bridge the gap between the trade buyer, fashion designer and fashionista scheduled on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 February 2008 at The Music Room, London.

With a significant increase in demand for ethical and fair trade fashion we are thrilled to welcome Amira Wear, Amoosi, Artisan Life, Bailey Clothing, OMyJimmy and Vanjon at FaCshion. Trade buyers can also expect women’s wear by Axiom Clothing, Dakou Clothing, Edlbruck and London College of Fashion women’s wear graduate, Nadia Ivanova, whose client list includes Helena Bonham Carter, Mel B and Ashley Jensen of Ugly Betty; and Fire-Hose, a pioneering new company that handcraft lifestyle products exclusively from decommissioned fire hose.

FaCshion is an independent fashion shopping event scheduled Saturday 16 February (12:00 – 19:00) and Sunday 17 February 2008 (12:00 – 17:00) for consumers and trade buyers. Consumers can enjoy a shopping experience and the opportunity to purchase independent collections directly from the designer. Trade buyers can source new collections from established designers and meet new designers that seldom have the budget to exhibit at traditional trade shows. UK Fashion Exports (UKFE) has attracted a number of high value prizes for winners of this year’s Export Awards, due to be held at Landmark London on 5th June 2008. Entry forms for the Awards are now available.

The prize list for the UK Fashion Export Awards includes stands at a number of overseas exhibitions as well as financial support and global trade advice worth £20,000 provided by FedEx and a subscription to on-line fashion information service WGSN. For the first time stands at So Ethic in Paris, Mother Baby & Child in Dubai and Moda Menswear in Birmingham are being offered, as well as space at Prêt à Porter Paris or The Train New York, Mode City Paris & Interfilière and Pure Accessories in London.

Being shortlisted for, or even winning, one of these Awards, is a great boost to company morale and tells the world that the company is an international player.The Awards are designed to reward companies, irrespective of size, who have demonstrated export excellence. This year’s industry judging panel will be looking for winners in eight categories – Menswear; Men’s Accessories; Womenswear; Women’s Accessories; Childrenswear; Ethical Fashion; Lingerie/Beach Fashion; and New Exporter. The Exporter of the Year Award, sponsored by Landsbanki, and the Export Personality of the Year Award will be nominated by the industry. Marks and Spencer, longstanding member and one of the UK’s most significant retail exporters, also supports the event with sponsorship. HRH The Princess Royal, President of UK Fashion Exports, will present the Awards. All finalists will receive a free ticket to the Awards lunch at The Landmark London on 5 June 2008.
